Violations of these conduct provisions may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account, reporting to relevant Nigerian authorities, and, where appropriate, legal action.
Intellectual Property
6.1 Scholar Naija's Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality on the Scholar Naija Platform โ including but not limited to the website design, layout, visual elements, logos, trademarks, text, graphics, software code, database structure, and the compilation and arrangement of publicly available past examination questions โ are the intellectual property of Scholar Naija or our content suppliers and are protected by Nigerian copyright law, the Trademarks Act, and applicable international intellectual property conventions.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. This licence does not include the right to:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Platform in any medium without our prior written permission.

Advertising
Scholar Naija is a free platform supported by advertising revenue. We display advertisements through Google AdSense (Publisher ID: ca-pub-4046529488627800) and may display advertisements from other advertising partners from time to time. By using our Platform, you acknowledge and accept that advertising is an integral part of our service model.
You agree not to:
- Use any ad-blocking software, browser extension, or technical means to circumvent or disable advertisements on Scholar Naija. Advertising is how we fund our free services for Nigerian students, and bypassing ads directly undermines our ability to continue providing them.
- Click on advertisements artificially or encourage others to click on advertisements for any purpose other than genuine interest in the advertised product or service.
- Engage in any behaviour intended to inflate our advertising metrics artificially, as this violates our agreements with advertising partners and may constitute fraud.
Scholar Naija is not responsible for the content, accuracy, legality, or quality of any advertisement displayed on the Platform. The appearance of an advertisement does not imply our endorsement of the advertised product, service, organisation, or opinion. If you see an advertisement that you believe is inappropriate, misleading, or offensive, please report it to us at ads@scholarnaija.com.ng.
We carefully review our advertising partnerships and actively work to ensure that advertisements displayed on Scholar Naija are relevant, appropriate, and beneficial to our student audience. However, automated advertising systems may occasionally display content that is contextually mismatched. We appreciate your patience and feedback.
Affiliate Links & Partnerships
Scholar Naija participates in affiliate marketing programmes. Certain links on our Platform โ particularly those directing you to external services, courses, tools, or products โ may be affiliate links through which Scholar Naija earns a commission if you make a qualifying purchase or sign up for a service, at no additional cost to you.
We are committed to transparency regarding our commercial relationships. All affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with applicable Nigerian consumer protection guidelines and international advertising standards. Our editorial recommendations remain independent of our affiliate relationships โ we only recommend services and products we genuinely believe are useful and appropriate for Nigerian students.
By clicking affiliate links on Scholar Naija, you acknowledge that:
- You will be directed to a third-party website that is governed by its own terms of service and privacy policy, which are independent of Scholar Naija.
- Scholar Naija is not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, security, or practices of any third-party website accessed through an affiliate link.
- Any transactions you complete on a third-party website are between you and that third party. Scholar Naija is not a party to such transactions and bears no liability for them.
If you have any concerns about an affiliate recommendation on Scholar Naija, please contact us at partnerships@scholarnaija.com.ng. We take complaints about affiliate partners seriously and will investigate and act on any credible concern.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, Scholar Naija, its founders, employees, contractors, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of โ or inability to use โ the Platform or its content.

Where Scholar Naija's liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable Nigerian law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount of any fees paid by you to Scholar Naija in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. As Scholar Naija is a free platform, this amount is in most cases zero.
Termination
11.1 Termination by Scholar Naija
Scholar Naija reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your access to all or any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of any provision of these Terms.
- Conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to other users, the Platform, our reputation, or any third party.

Upon termination of your access to Scholar Naija, all licences granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. 11.3 Termination of the Platform
Scholar Naija also reserves the right to cease operating the Platform entirely, either temporarily or permanently, at any time. We will provide reasonable advance notice of any planned permanent discontinuation where practicable, but cannot guarantee the continued availability of the Platform indefinitely.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You may initiate this process by contacting us at legal@scholarnaija.com.ng with a written description of your complaint. We will respond within 14 business days.
If amicable resolution is not achieved within 60 days of the initial complaint, either party may elect to pursue the matter through binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of Nigeria, with arbitration to be conducted in Lagos, Nigeria. The language of arbitration shall be English. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding on both parties.
Nothing in this clause shall prevent either party from seeking emergency injunctive or other equitable relief from a competent Nigerian court to prevent irreparable harm pending the resolution of any dispute.
